1. CONVERSATION ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHER IVAN DVORŠAK -> 18 September 2023 at 18.00, Maribor Museum of Photography
The discussion will be held between Andreja Borin, curator at the Maribor Art Gallery and Branimir Ritonja, photographer.
IVAN DVORŠAK (1934 – 2013) was one of the most prominent Slovenian photographers of the second half of the 20th century and a renowned graphic designer. His work was a prominent influence on the Slovenian and Yugoslav art scene, and his photography of the 1970s can be placed alongside current global trends. He started working in photography in the early 1960s. He was one of the most active members of the Maribor Photoclub and one of the main protagonists of the Maribor Circle. He was a Master of Photography candidate of the Photo Federation of Yugoslavia and AFIAP (Artiste FIAP). Within the Maribor Circle (1971 – 1974), he was the first one to form his own expression and thus decisively influenced the other members. In this conversation, the interlocutors will shed light on Dvoršak’s creative path and his contribution to the Maribor Photography Club and his role within the Maribor Circle. The discussion will be complemented by a projection of Dvoršak’s best photographs from the collection of the Maribor Art Gallery.
2. CONVERSATION WITH PHOTOGRAPHERS BOJAN GOLČAR and GREGOR RADONJIČ -> 20 September 2023, at 18.00, Media Nox Gallery
The artists will talk about their festival exhibition at the Tower Gallery, the importance and legitimacy of alternative photographic techniques such as manipulated photography and their views on contemporary art. The discussion will be moderated by Sara Nuša Golob Grabner.
3. PRESENTATION OF THE LATEST PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT BY NIKON -> 22 September 2023, between 14.00 and 18.00 at the Maribor Museum of Photography
