Everything that has been written or said about the fate of
Kosovar refugees is only a drop of water in the ocean compared
to the suffering they endured during their exodus and life in
refugee camps. Among all those affected, children suffered the
most. Their childhood world was overturned from the moment
they were forced onto the roads of displacement.

Many of them took their first steps in the camp. In those
moments of anxiety and sorrow, they represented the only hope
and the greatest treasure of their families. The idea behind
this exhibition is to separate, at least symbolically, the
scenes of violence from the sincere and innocent lives of
children, and to present as normal a childhood as possible in
circumstances that were anything but normal.

Vse, kar je bilo napisanega ali povedanega o usodi kosovskih
beguncev, je le kaplja v morje v primerjavi s trpljenjem, ki
so ga prestali med svojim begunstvom in življenjem v begunskih
taboriščih. Med vsemi prizadetimi so najbolj trpeli otroci.
Njihov otroški svet se je obrnil na glavo v trenutku, ko so
bili prisiljeni stopiti na pot razselitve.

Mnogi med njimi so svoje prve korake naredili prav v
taborišču. V trenutkih tesnobe in žalosti so predstavljali
edino upanje in največji zaklad svojih družin. Namen te
razstave je, da vsaj simbolično loči prizore nasilja od
iskrenega in nedolžnega življenja otrok ter prikaže čim bolj
običajno otroštvo v okoliščinah, ki so bile vse prej kot
običajne.
